Meshing

I have Christmas on the brain...I know what you are thinking "Becky you are insane"!!!!

I don't know why, and I am totally NOT skipping over fall festivities and Thanksgiving.  So no worries.

I was thinking of doing our tree a little bit different this year.  Our ribbon from Garden Ridge has seen better days, and honestly I HATE cleaning up all that glitter after the holidays are over.

I've always loved the floral aka decorator's mesh that people use in their Christmas trees, wreaths, and decor.  I Googled "Christmas floral mesh" and these are some images that came up.......

All you AR fans will LOVE this one!
The thing is I have no idea how to use the stuff???

Where do I even find it or buy it???

How do you incorporate it in your tree?

If you have used it do you mind telling me how you work with this mesh ribbon?

I don't use it, but I've studied it on hoblob pre-mades. I think you just puff it, gather & floral-wire pinch it throughout?

You can buy it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Best part is if you buy it with a 40% off coupon. :)

I love the way the Christmas tree is decorated, especially the top. Hobby Lobby and Michaels typically have the best selection.

I've been wanting to use the mesh too, but I'm scared. I have no idea how and I'm afraid I'll just get frustrated! Maybe I'll give it a try this year!

I have pinned tons of tutorial on it from pinterest. I will be using lots of it this year. Well, I am going to try. We are closing on the house on Dec.14th. I may just decorate all the boxes! HA!
One site I found is Kristenscreationsonline.blogspot.com

I've had it on our tree the past two years and I love it. It's really easy to work with and basically it bends and fluffs the way that you want it to. I think when it comes to using it on railing and stairways, you need some kind of wiring or twisty-tie type of thing to hold it down to make it stay that way. Put using it on your tree is super easy. PS - I have Christmas decorating on the brain already too! (o:

I have purchased it from Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and there is a store with a C in Texas (sorry, we don't have it in NY but if it comes to me I will comment again) that sell perfect mesh ribbon. Every year I decorate with it- it's so easy to use! Can't wait to see how you decorate! Right now Halloween is totally on the brain though!

I have also been wanting to try the floral mesh for my Christmas decor! I have felt the same way though - not sure how to do it. I've also been a little apprehensive about purchasing something that I might have trouble using and end up throwing away. However, after reading these comments, it sounds fairly easy. I might have to try it this year!

There is a temporary store in Southlake Town Centre that sells it...I believe it is called The Christmas Store. I just went there two weeks ago and it is an incredible store!! They do sell it at Hob Lob as well. I would probably buy lots of floral wire. But I think it will be fairly easy to work with. Good luck...can't wait to see what you do!
