January 6, 2009

It's been one of those weeks so far....slow going. I'm already counting down the days, hours, minutes until the weekend. I kind of sad that Christmas is over because every year I build myself up to Christmas day and when it's finally here I get upset because it will be a WHOLE year before it comes back around again! I've already noticed stores stocking Valentine's day inventory...man, we are a crazy society aren't we? So quick to get things done and over with! I am counting down the days until May when Terence graduates.
It seems like I'm always looking for that next step in life to be fulfilled and sometimes I forget about the here and now. I don't stop to see what is right in front of me and how blessed I am! I pray that God would give me contentment in the mean time to be satisfied with what I have instead of living for tomorrow, and anyone else who is struggling with this...because after all we aren't promised tomorrow are we?

Well, I am being called by Terence to go watch a movie! Night all!

I was in Target *before* Christmas and they already had their Valentine's display up! Crazy! I find myself living my life always counting down to the "next" thing. The next holiday, or our next trip somewhere...I need to work on living in the today too. I think I've seen "Gone With the Wind" too many times: "After all ... tomorrow is another day". ;)

Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. - Philippians 4:6

I just saw that scripture & thought of you. Remember all the things you are wanting are not part of the BIG picture. They are all physical & you can't take them with you when you die. Just be patient & God will bless you with what your heart desires. (I have to remind myself of this too, especially with my situation). I love you so much & you are my best friend & I want you to be happy!

Love, Sidder

Oh goodness...do I EVER!! That's why I titled my blog the way I did, "Miracle of the moment", I feel like God is constantly trying to teach me to enjoy NOW...to appreciate NOW. There will never be another Jan 2009 and I need to appreciate being HERE NOW!!!
My hubby graduates in May too, and I am always thinking about what that will mean for us...so I totally know what you are saying!! We have a lot in common!

Wow, you said it so beautifully. I find myself thinking lots about living in the moment and making the best of what I have now, because you are certainly right, we are not certain about tomorrow. Much like yourself, I have so much to be thankful for, after all, I did marry the man of my dreams and I do have my farm and farmhouse that I said I have always wanted. And, not to forget the world's best family, both my family and Scott's too. Yep, and my list could go on and on. Praise God! :)

I find the week after the New Year is one of the hardest for me. Christmas is my favorite time and so I prepare so much for it in so many ways that I am saddened when it is all over. In fact, I just took my decorations down on Monday.

Hope you enjoyed the movie! Have a good rest of the week, we're getting there, Thursday~ :)

Things are crazy when it comes to holidays, I blame the stores for pushing us to focus on the next big event! I mean who needs to see Christmas decorations at Hobby Lobby in July!

The Lord blesses us with so many things on a daily basis and I am totally guilty of missing those things. We should focus on the day at hand and not the days to come!

Great post and I am glad to know I am not the only one who forgets to focus on the here and now! :)
